Field Notes: Trail Peak

1 min read

Trail Peak wasn't chosen as the homepage's construction story because it's the newest or the most expensive listing — it's neither. It was chosen because it's the shoe on our own feet most often, which made it the easiest one to describe honestly, layer by layer.

The reinforced knit upper has abrasion panels at the toe and heel — the two points that actually make contact with rock and root on uneven ground, rather than a blanket reinforcement that would just add weight everywhere else.

“Trail terrain punishes an unstable ride more than a road ever will.”

The midsole runs firmer than our lifestyle listings, on purpose. Trail terrain punishes an unstable ride more than a road ever will, so the dual-density foam is tuned for stability first, rebound second.

If you've scrolled through the homepage's disassembly sequence, this is the shoe you were looking at. It felt right to give it its own page, not just a supporting role in someone else's story.
